去工作5天, 四天是淋雨回家….

董教总顾问沈慕羽今天与世长辞，享年96岁。

据悉，沈慕羽日前因病入院，但今天出院返家，并且在晚上9点15分辞世。

他于1913年马六甲出生，曾担任教总主席和林连玉基金会主席等重要华教职务。1968年开始，他也积极参加独大运动；1981年，他领导教总反对国阵政府推动的3M计划。1999年，他荣获“林连玉精神奖”。

沈慕羽在1949年加入马华公会，并在1966年当选马青副总团长。1965年，他发动争取华文成为官方语文运动，翌年更因此坚持这样的立场而被开除党籍。

在1987年10月，教育部调派不谙华文教师出任华小高职风波不久，74岁高龄的沈慕羽在国阵政府发动茅草行动下，以内安法令扣留，60天后被送往太平扣留营。1988年6月有条件获释。
