International Chess Open 2012

Registration Fee:RM50
Participating Conditions:
a) Single event mode is applied.
b) Participant must show his/her IC or passport during registration.
Rules and Regulations:
a) This chess competition is available for all age above 15.
b) The FIDE Laws of Chess apply, supplemented by these tournament rules and regulations.
c) To accommodate space or other organizational constraint, the organizing committees have the right to accept or reject any entry without explanation. First-come-first-serve basis to a limited number of participants. Funds will be given back to rejected entrant(s).
d) 7 games will be played by all participants regardless of their results from earlier encounters and the one with the most accumulated points will be declared as the winner.
e) All participants must report in 40 minutes earlier before the first round. Failure to do so or failure to play any round will result in immediate disqualification unless prior notification was given to Arbiter. There will be no refund under such circumstances.
f) The time control for each player shall be 25 minutes to-be-finish. There is no walkover period for this tournament. In the event of an inconclusive result within the allocated time above, the player whose flag falls first is deemed the loser.
g) Moves for White’s and Black’s must be recorded by every participants, played until the player’s has 5minutes remaining. Failing to do so would result in losing 10 minutes or half of the remaining time left over, whichever is lower, as penalty time.
h) Handling in the duly signed score sheets with the correct results recorded to the arbiter table is the responsible of winner of each game. Player who playing White holds the responsibility if the game is a draw.
i) Rearranging the pieces on the chessboard is the responsible of loser of each game and if the game is draw, the player playing Black holds this responsibility.
j) The tournament director reserves the right to remove any individual deemed a nuisance or undesirable so we expect all participants and parents to conduct themselves sportingly.
k) The decision of the competition Director, Chief Arbiter and Arbiters with regard to the running of the event is FINAL.

All participants are given a certificate.
1st prize : RM1200 + trophy
2nd prize : RM900 + trophy
3rd prize : RM600 + trophy
4th prize : RM300+ trophy
5th prize : RM100 + trophy
6th – 10th prize : RM50 + trophy
11th – 20th prize : trophy
